Russia A country hosting 23 World Heritage Sites is understandably one of the most visited countries in the world. Both nature and cultural tourism is popular in this country. Lake Baikal, volcanoes and geysers of Kamchatka, the Black Sea coasts, the Ruskeala Canyon, snowy mountains of Altai are some of the natural attractions in this country. Cultural hot spots here include the cities like Moscow, St. Petersburg, Novosibirsk, Novgorod, Kazan, and others with their numerous churches, museums, historical buildings, theaters, palaces, fortifications, and other sites steeped in centuries of  history . Colosseum and Forum

Image
The Colosseum and Forum  The Colosseum and the Forum are right next to each other in Rome, so I included them together. Remnants of a civilization that once controlled the known world, these sites are breath taking not only for their beauty but also for their history and age. You’re standing in the spot Caesar walked and gazing into the arena where gladiators battled to the death. The Colosseum has slowly crumbled throughout the ages, and much of it is restricted now, especially the floor and basement where everything was organized. The Forum is great to walk around (and it’s free), though a ticket is required for Palatine Hill. I would definitely get a guided tour, because the information presented by the authorities doesn’t go into much depth.

Blue Caves, Zakynthos Island

Image
Blue Caves, Zakynthos Island  Blue caves villa is probably the best place to be in Zakynthos, the largest islands in the Ionian sea. On the West cost where Zakynthos offers one of its most stunning views: the blue caves. They are also known as the blue caves of Volimes, the picturesque village where they are located. The distinctive element of the blue caves is that they reflect the vibrating and striking blue colour of the waters in them, which at the same time capture and reflect the shine of the limpid sky reflected on their surface. It is a secluded part of the island that has everything you are looking for. It’s an absolutely beautiful location with breathtaking views over the turquoise Ionian sea.

Paterswoldse Meer Lake - Netherlands

Paterswoldse Meer Lake - Netherlands Ice skating on Paterswoldse Meer, a lake just South of the city of Groningen in the Netherlands. The Paterswoldse Meer lake is one of those places where you could skate in a natural setting, under a breath taking environment. As part of the Groningen-Drenthe lakes, this is a favourite among Netherlands visitors because of its unbelievable surroundings.

TIKAL... place of Remembered Voices.

Image
Tikal This Mayan city-state is one of the largest and best-preserved ruins of that civilization, and was a dominant force in the Mayan world during the Classic Period (200-900 AD). Located in Guatemala, this place lets you experience your inner Indiana Jones early in the morning or late at night when the tourists go home and it’s just you and the jungle. It is very serene, and that made for one of the best travel memories I have. Be sure to spend the night in the park, as you then really get to see it without the crowds. I particularly enjoyed seeing the sunrise from atop the temples. . During the heyday of the Maya Empire, Tikal was a very important and influential city, controlling vast stretches of territory and dominating smaller city-states. Like the rest of the great Maya Cities, Tikal fell into decline around 900 A.D. or so and was eventually abandoned. It is currently an important archaeological and tourism site.
